    Southwest Air Wifi On two recent flights, I accessed the Wifi with my phone, but did not pay the $8. I discovered I can send and receive gmail messages throughout the flight (in airplane mode, but on Wifi). Is this something Southwest allows or did they overlook it and don't know? PS: Don't tell Southwest!

    I believe SW has free wifi?

    Not completely - you can access TV, but for browsing, e-mail and social media it is $8 per day.

    Alot of wifi systems that require you to log in via browser for some reason allow not http traffic through sometimes. I've noticed I can often use RDP on a wifi web sign in based location where I haven't signed in
