Somewhat related to @DawnAnastasi's 11-1-11 posting (https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/7633783), I recently noticed this ""Read Me First"" note for the MAS 90/200 Product Updates: ""After installing the product update, run WksUpdate.exe from the server's ..\Mas90\Wksetup folder at each workstation on which you would like to update the local help files."" Does anyone religiously do this? It would seem to be a heck of a lot easier (and make more sense) if the Help files resided on the MAS 90/200 server rather than each workstation? And then on the Release Notes, it additionally says, ""After installing this Product Update, WKsUpdate 90.exe or WKsUpdate 200.exe needs to be run on each MAS Workstation. This file is located in the ..\mas90\WkSetup directory on the MAS Server. (WKsUpdate should also be run anytime WkSetup.exe is run on a MAS Workstation.) So if WksUpdate.exe updates the local help files, what does WksUpdate 90 and WksUpdate 200 do? But again, does anyone consistently do this?

Sometimes the update files do more than update the help files though. I can't remember the specifics, but I think one of the early 4.40 updates had a client side fix for a Paperless Office issue.

Installing the workstation setup is like religion - I do it when I feel the need. If there are enhancements (not bug fixes) like there were in v4.4, I try to run the update. But it is difficult when doing the deed remotely.

+1 Jeff. I rarely have run anything other than wksetup and only if there's a specific issue. I'm big on the ""if it ain't broke"" philosophy..

I am in the camp that always runs the wksupdate after I run the wksetup on a workstation. It takes less than a minute and as far as I know has never caused an issue for any of my clients.

+1 Gene. If I don't run it and there's an issue, it's on me. If I run it and there's an issue, it's on Sage.
