I attended Sage Sessions and the Partner day in Atlanta. Sage Sessions was mostly a waste of time. The keynote was entertaining, and I was able to meet some of the Sage people I had only talked to over the phone. The partner day was good information, but it was Ed's Value Conversation/Fixed Pricing presentation that I have now seen for the 10th time and Allan Adler from Digital Bridge Partners delivering a similar presentation that Geoff Ashley is delivering about ""transforming your business into a cloud (i.e., subscription-based) business."" Shorten the sales cycle, package your IP, change the way you pay your sales people and consultants to create more content, etc. One of the highlights of the Partner day was a tour of Sage's Atlanta headquarters. If you want to know where all of your margin dollars are going, you should check out their employee breakroom/cafe with unlimited fountain drinks, candy, coffee, etc. Willy Wonka would be proud.
