If commissions from third parties is part of your business model I would suggest you get some references prior to referring because the ""good old days"" of ""buying you a beer at Summit"" are not going to keep your business afloat.
I just keep it simple with the one strike rule. One and done. After that I'll find another ""partner"" to refer to.
BTW, this end user lead ACH'd the downpayment the same day they got the proposal and yes I had three email exchanges with Kissinger but now I'm sitting back and waiting to see how long they'll go before and if they ever send money. Today I sent email to the end user to see if they've ever completed. Somehow I have to become project manager and risk guarantor as well...
