So has anyone watched the Joe Langner video about support? Here's a quote from one of the FAQ things: The subscription plan does not require any penalties to come back on a program, and the cash flow managed purchasing approach with the application is yet another reason to come back on the Sage Business Care plan. And here's another quote: Previously, phone support was only available to those with Sage Business Care Silver or Gold plansand unlimited phone support was reserved just for Gold. Now that's all changed. Given how much value customers get from it, Sage decided it was time for everyone to have access to phone support. SO - that looks like a helluva big change to me. No more penalties for being offplan (and what about just being late - another reseller I work with had to fight Sage over a client being a week late just two weeks ago), and it SOUNDS like everyone gets unlimited support. The Gold Plan offers this that the Silver does not - Upgrade Planning to determine whether you should upgrade even though you've modified the whazoo out of your Sage 100 ERP.

This only applies to subscription, though.

He says that in the first video, but when you get to the next screen they are just talking about Business Care Plans in general and he never mentions subscriptions again. Wouldn't make sense to have the Upgrade Planning for subscription people, would it - don't they get upgraded whether they like it or not?

To get a subscription customer is worth the world to them. It's a way to print money long term.

Subscription is just a method of paying for the software, not hosted. They get upgrades sent to them, but they don't have to load them.

Ah. Maybe someday I'll make sense of it all. But that unlimited phone support doesn't state it's for subscription only, so if I was a client reading that (after having my rates raised this year), I'd be pissed.

Remember also that the on-line option has unlimited support also at what - $99 per month? That's why we had a previous discussion about that being a better option for a consultant than being a certified consultant with limited cases.
