SMI - Does anyone know if the free version of the software (reporter) contains a comparative P&L report that can be modified. Client wants full year amounts for 2009,2010 and YTD for 2011. They didn't get on the end of year FRx band wagon and now want this report. If no one here knows, hopefully someone at Summit will

Jeff, SMI Report Manager is what the clients get free. SMI Report Designer is Sage's answer to financial reporting this is not included for free. What we have experience is the SMI Report Designer is not very good and runs extremely slow. We tried using Report Designer with one of our clients. They have about 100 accounts in their chart of accounts and not a lot of detail in the G/L detail. It took 20 minutes for the report to run. We ended up just setting up the information directly in excel rather than using SMI at all. They could get everything they needed and refreshing Excel to less than 10 seconds. Currently we have given up using SMI for any financial reporting.

The report manager was what I was referring to. I was hoping that it included a template that might provide the three year comparison. Looking forward to Summit to see if there is any light at the end of the SMI tunnel. Hopefully, it isn't a traing coming at me.

Jeff, Sage has posted a fix for the SMI speed issue that we were having so the speed is not an issue, however the functionality still is. Hope to learn more at Summit.
