We use it all day. Strictly internally in our case. I think it's an incredible tool, but, like text, gets misused / overused. For all the great things it can do, one starts to ignore it when it overwhelms. We have:
- A Sage 100 support channel (we have no case/ticketing system at all
- I have a trello channel because I am using trello
- A general channel where we might say we're using remote access for customer A or there are cookies in the break room.
- A calendar channel because no one looks at our calendar or can use statuses when they are away :-P
- A social channel for pics of the kids
- All our DM channels
