Since I haven't seen an agenda for the Admin meeting next Tuesday at 11:30, I'm assuming this one is okay? 4. Need an agenda for Admin Summit meeting, tentatively assigned to Robert (that's what happens when you don't attend!) to be distributed prior to Summit. Some suggestions: - Financial review; - How to use funds to improve/better the group? - Charging vendors for listing webinars, etc.; - Bylaws; - Leadership of the group; - Hiring someone to do the grunt work of the group; - Class of 2013 full membership candidates; - Next year's dues; - Future of SC; - Status of 501(c)6?

This looks good to me - at the top of the list needs to be a candid discussion on the direction of the group. No use exploring vendor listings, etc if the ultimate decision of the group is to stay as-is (which I think it will be). We've probably reached - or exceeded - the limit of what we can reasonably expect people to volunteer for. I think the group needs to carefully consider the practicality of hiring someone for grunt work because that's also going to require group members to supervise, direct, and manage. I just don't think that's going to happen (at least not from me) when you have a core of admin (all unpaid) expected to volunteer so other people do get paid or earn fees from the group.

Well, that could be part of the discussion under Leadership of the group - Positions? Elected? Term? Paid? In a non-profit board that I served on, the executive committee consisted of the Chair (one-year term), Incoming Chair, Past Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. The only rotating position was the Chair (and incoming/past), which kept new blood in the main leadership position. Granted, this is five positions, which is pretty much the entire admin group, but it's a suggestion. I totally agree that we can't have a paid grunt position without someone in a designated leadership position who should also be compensated but who would also have defined responsibilities.

Diane Ruth is wondering if there will be another 90 Minds meet-up to ""pick each other's brains"" about sessions attended, etc. Maybe this evening?

That was definitely a success. I can't make it tonight but I think it's a good idea.
