Significant defect in Sage 100v2025 and New PU's for 23 and 24

I just received word that there is a significant issue affecting the v2025  product release and PU's related to GL postings. Downloads have been halted and a hotfix is in the works for those that have installed. They're likely going to re-release version 2025 along with the 2023 and 2024 product updates as .01 revisions. It will take about one to two weeks to regenerate the release packages.

Hopefully we will have more details tomorrow, but the issue appears to involve the first GL journal in a batch not posting-no error is triggered.   The rest on the entry posts but the  1st entry essentially disappears from the GL detail and summary reports when the journal is posted.

Looks for KB's and community notices tomorrow.  These will assist in determining exactly what to do.  If you are installing the PU or v2025, I would hold off until you understand the full details.

    That is all I know.

Lovely. "GL journal in a batch" is this referring to GL Journal Entry batch or subsidiary module batches DTR?

In reviewing the activity in my WHQ 2025 install, it doesn't appear the DTR is affected.  My PR and AP transactions were updated correctly.  I do not use batches in GL JE.  I wonder if transaction JEs are impacted as well.

Seems like a simple workaround if only Journal Entries to make first entry dr and cr same account for 1.00.

Thanks for the update @Jim Woodhead.  I noticed the PU's were down last night and posted a note on the community asking why they were taken down.  So far today, no response.  The more time they take, the more innocent lives will be affected....

Or set the first entry to a dummy non-financial account?

What is it with first records?  I had another issue in v2024 where if the first line on an invoice was a comment it caused problems.

Anyone want to bet whether Sage is going to force the VAR to sign a liability release form to get a patch that fixes Sage's bug?!

Do we know if it's version specific (like advanced vs standard vs premium)? I ask because somehow we have not run into this. Also - is this just if the source is GL and not other places? Sorry for all the questions but trying to understand impact. Most of our customers on these versions have custom mods so it's going to be a real nightmare to deal with this.

    From Mike Richie

    Hello all -

We found an issue with data not being saved correctly when using "General Journey Entry" in all three of these versions. It's the first entry in a batch, and there is no error message.  We removed the downloads temporarily while we fix this. We will post a message shortly, and the hotfix is currently in testing and should be posted on Monday. In the meantime, the work-around is to use Transaction Journal Entry instead. Posting from subsidiary ledgers are not impacted.

Sage has released a fix for this.

General Journal Entries don't post to General Ledger in versions 2025.0, 2024.2, 2023.5

Oh, and I should add my workaround mentioned earlier does workaround the issue if you can't get the hotfix installed.

Make the first entry a wash dr/cr same account. It doesn't post, but the rest of the entries will.

Sounds like the re-releases of v2025, v2024.2 and v2023.5 should be available for download today.
