  • 1.  Ship To Address Code Field Size

    I just received this email from a customer.  Is there any existing enhancements or does anyone have an idea of a workaround?

    "Because we do so much business with Amazon, we have exceeded the Ship to number range allowed in Sage 100. Can this be updated to an extra digit for Ship to?"

    Do they do repeat business with the Ship To's that they need to set them up as a Ship To?  
    Could they just use 1 Ship To and overwrite the date in SO Entry?

    Exactly... set the Amazon customer's ship to address fields as blank, and override at the order level.

    Yes.  Not using the Ship to code would be what I would recommend.  For repeat business they check to see if a ship-to is already setup and if so then they choose it so they don't have to type in the address again.  I just noticed that they are only using digits for the ship to code so they could use alphanumeric codes if they are set on using the code.  Seems like more trouble searching thousands of codes than re-typing the address.

    Just spoke to the customer and they want to be able to keep track of repeat business.. ie how many times a customer ordered from them on Amazon,  They use the ship to codes to run reports.  They are OK now with using alphanumeric. Seems to me they could use another method of creating the reports such as zip code telephone number or another unique identifier.  It would be quicker than searching for a ship to match on every order.
