Setting up 2 new companies for a client. They are trying to use the ""Copy from another company"" when setting up the GL accounts. The list of companies they have does not list the company they want to copy from but DOES list a TST company that doesn't actually exist in Company Maintenance. And even better - the list they have to choose from is different between the 2 new companies. Since nothing has been created in each - WTH?????

First think I'd do is look at the company maintenance - preferences - data location. No - i don't think this would explain why there are two sets of companies appearing in a lookup - it's just the first place I'd look to see if by chance those paths were different. I've seen paths get mangled , albeit rarely, during copying of data.

Oh,heck, it's something to do, anyway! I'll see what I can see.

I'm just going to use GL Exchange. Chalking it up to old Indian burial grounds.

If you recently did a conversion - maybe check that all companies' data got updated to the current version?
