Wait, what? With all the world's problems, Microsoft decided for everybody that one space versus two spaces is better? Here's what I think we should do:
1. Write your congress representatives and demand they break up the Microsoft monopoly!!!
2. We all fly to Redmond, WA and picket Microsoft (keeping a 6 ft distance of course). We can probably get George Soros to pay for expenses especially if we work in some anti-Trump stuff!!!

3. Instead of a hunger strike, disable auto correct spell check for 30 days!!!
4. Start a Go-Fund-Me page and develop a product where you can haves as many spaces after a period as we want.
5. Next Meeting Of The Minds, have a mass march from the meeting room to the bar!!!! Wait, we already do that.
I am clearly in Schwenk's camp on this one.

Powerful Business Technology Made Simple

------Original Message------
The association with typewriters is false, and intended to bias the reader towards pairing two spaces with obsolete technology. When I write by hand, I also add more white space after a period, naturally.
Why do we capitalize the first letter of a sentence? That was done on typewriters too... so let's stop!
What about paragraphs? Let's do away with CRLF (an abbreviation literally associated with typewriter technology)!
Of course we're not going to do either. Two spaces was not common practice because of anything specific with typewriter technology, it was done because of how the human eye works. I honestly have no clue how anyone could complain about the two spaces. Mystifying in the extreme that this became a pop-culture "thing" to the point that M$ decided to do something with grammar check.
