    Posted 30 days ago

Since Endpoint is not doing one off enhancement, we thought a script would be able to change the promise dates for the components of a work ticket. Is there anyone who has done a script for operation management. We have a script, but it does not update the promise date of the components. The client has 50-line items on a sales order (50 work tickets) and we need to change the promise dates to plan the inventory and the customer of the client will have different due dates for each work ticket.

    Thank You

Avron, do any of the standard capabilities of OM and the automatic adjusting of the promise date help:

Promise Date The following rules apply regarding the Promise Date that defaults for work ticket parts:
 When a part is added to a step that does not have an assigned Production Start Date, the part's Promise Date defaults from the Sales Order Ship Date.
 When a price quote sales order is changed to a standard order and the order's ship date is changed, the promise date of all parent items and components associated with the order are automatically updated with the new ship date value. Any other subsequent changes to the sales order's ship date will not change any component's promise date.
 When a part is added to a step whose Production Start Date is assigned, the part's Promise Date defaults from the step's Production Start Date.
 When a step's start date is manually changed (either in work ticket step maintenance or in the step recap screen), a prompt will appear asking whether or not to set all the parts on the step to the new start date.
The following rules apply when the Enhanced Scheduling module is used:
 When the Capable to Promise function is used, the calculated available date for each part is used to assign to their respective Date Promised field.
 When the Adjust Promise Dates on Parts work ticket class parameter is selected and the work ticket is scheduled or rescheduled, the work ticket step's Production Start Date is used to assign as the Date Promised to all parts on the step.
 When the Adjust Promise Dates on Parts work ticket class parameter is not selected and the Include Material as Constraint Scheduling Parameter is selected, the calculated available date for each part is used to assign to their respective Date Promised field. During the scheduling function JobOps reviews each part on the step to determine when the part can be available (using primary vendor and lead time, else if no primary vendor the part is available in 2 days).
