Your question got me thinking about what other Microsoft programs, less involved than MS Project, could be adapted to Sage data. This Microsoft Excel template (attached) could be a starting point to which multi-layered bills could be adapted. Rather than an Excel chart, this technique uses Conditional formatting formulas based on table (i.e. query) row data to reflect planned versus actual status. Although Microsoft doesn't officially support running Excel unattended (I've run MS Access unattended, also unsupported, for 2 decades), such a query may be able to be setup in Power BI which is supported for scheduling.

Subject: Scheduling (Gantt charts) with Sage version of Production Management?
Thanks again Doug. Yes, I took a course in Project way back-in-the-day and am generally familiar with the idea of Gantt charts.
Client data is fairly complex (multi-layer bills), with lots of custom reports for planning production / purchasing. A new CFO is asking questions about integrated options, which don't seem to be readily available.

yes. MS Project. I know you can schedule in Project. There are milestones, Gant charts etc. I have used it several times for larger projects however it has been a few years. You could also use Excel as it has Gant charts. See the two tabs in the workbook attached to this email.

Thanks Doug. Google tells me MS Scheduler is more for meetings..?
Do you mean MS Project? (I found instructions to import into Project from a spreadsheet, but not directly from ODBC...).

Microsoft Scheduler is a great stand alone product. You would have to implement an integration.
