Scheduling Crystal Reports

Client wants to be able to schedule both standard Crystal Reports and Customized Crystal Reports to run at night.  What program is it that you use to schedule those reports to auto run?

Sage work table based reports: Sage Task Scheduler.
    Custom reports: Visual Cut.
(Since we like Visual Cut so much we usually make custom versions of Sage reports a customer wants to automate).

Thank you Kevin Moyes!  We just couldn't remember the name of the program - and that's it!

If they already have Sage Alerts, that can be used to create/send the custom reports as well

But still not standard reports that use .wrk files, right, @Jeff Schwenk?  Or do you know if the latest/new version of Sage Alerts addresses this?

Another scheduler that I've used is Logicity. It allows you to bundle up a group of reports and set the output destination. I have a customer who uses this to run two reports at night and export both to CSV files. They create the Logicity bundle and add it to Windows Task Scheduler. Based on their website I'm not totally sold that Logicity is actively supported though it seems to still be sold. I believe the price is on par with Visual Cut.

That sounds like how multiples are handled for Visual Cut... create a batch file with the report triggers, and schedule that in Windows Task Scheduler.

I've used LogiCity to schedule Custom Reports (not PII assisted ones though) and external Crystal reports for dozens of clients since 2007 when it was free.  It is now $10/year for the "Lite" version and $125/year for the Pro version. I used the Pro version only in the beginning, but now with the Lite version I'm able to schedule, group, email, print and export using date parameters that automatically advance the date period with minor enhancements to the report selection criteria. Visual Cut sounds like it has more interesting advanced features, but I haven't had the need so I now only use the Lite version of LogiCity and have never used Visual Cut. For bursting, I add a parameter to the report and use LogiCity's grouping ability to create separate outputs or emails (like to individual salesreps). I'm not sure what Wayne means by "Based on their website", but the Pro version comes with support which I have used in the past and found them responsive although LogiCity is not SaberLogic's (now Bezio)  mainstay.

The Logicity website footer has a copyright 2019. Their discussion board stopped having activity or there was some other signal that made me think the product could either not be actively sold or in a sunset phase.
