SAP made an application for first year membership and to attend MOTM - $8,000 I believe Gary and Mark both work with SAP and speak highly of it. Q: Thoughts about asking SAP to do some type of presentation (as our guest)

Having just attended ITA for the first time, I really appreciated the ""no selling"" rule, no tables/booths, and sessions that were primarily about processes and business improvement rather than software specific. All of the major publishers are there, so as consultants we have access to them if we need to. I have no issue with expanding the reach of 90 Minds by including other publishers, but at this point most of the members are Sage-centric and are looking for information that will help them in their Sage consulting practice. Including sessions for other publishers now and in the future may dilute the time devoted to that purpose for those consultants. SAP having a presence may be all that is required for those consultants that want to have discussions and pursue questions about SAP (and other vendors).

I agree with John's thought - my main reason for asking is that I know Gary and Mark C are very positive and enthusiastic on SAP. Especially Gary. I would not be as excited about mentioning this for a publisher that did not have a champion in the group. Gary and Mark are really ahead of the curve with respect to diversification and seem to have put in their time evaluating the companies and working with them.

While I agree with John as well, how is this any different than Acumatica or xTuple? Maybe we need to make all of their slots Business Track only and make more room on the technical track?

I'm with Therese. 90 Minds has to handle the near-term reality that most members are Sage-centric, while also enabling medium-term trend of members adding non-Sage elements. I suspect the latter trend is accelerating a bit. If so, then exposure to road maps and discussions about strengths and weaknesses of anchors like Acumatica/xtuple/SAP can only help those of us struggling to expand our value to customers and prospects. From that perspective, it makes sense to move them to Business Track, as it doesn't really make sense to go way into the weeds with them.

@WayneSchulz what's the breakdown on the $8k? 4k for membership, the other 4?

    It's $4 for dues, 2 tickets at $2

And SAP is actually going with a gold

I agree with the others above. Business track. I need to understand the sizzle and aroma of SAP, don't need to know what is behind the green curtain yet. At this point, I have Gary and Mark to explain that.

@JerryNorman 's point that there is a transition happening is right on and I think for many of us, that transition is happening because of 90 Minds. I'm indifferent to the track in which they belong but keep in mind that I travel nearly full-time on the business track.
