Sales Order VI in 3.71 - the Next command for order numbers just gave you another order for each line, unlike now where it only changes when a Header field changes, right? These 3.71 or earlier folks better all upgrade, because I'm finally forgetting all that old stuff...

I don't have a 3.71 with an active registration; but it seemed to me that you had to tell it when to switch to a new header record and get a new ""next"" number. I can't recall if that is part of the setup for the field or maybe on the records tab. I think I usually forced the issue and made the order number a column in the source file for the import. You are right about users on these older versions. I'm losing knowledge of those older versions quicker than expected.

look for ""Change Next"" or ""Change Next on"" that is what I keep coming back to but I don't have a 3.71 to look at anymore. I have an install but have not invested the time to register it and it won't let me into VI without registering.

@BrettZimmerman - hm, that looks suspiciously like framework Next, not 3.71 Next...

Yes, that .pdf is for Framework; thought it'd be helpful. I'm also wondering if you need to use the Records tab in 3.71 to help with what you're trying to accomplish, but that's just somewhat of a guess.

@BethBowers, I just realized that .pdf contains the following re: Legacy: For Legacy Modules: ? Sourcefile must contain separate Header & Detail lines for NEXT operation to work ? The Next number will be assigned to each Header Record ? Deselect the option ""Header Information Included in Detail Line"" on Configuration tab ? Define both Header Record & Detail Record in the Records tab
