Sage 100

Sales Forecasting and Sage 100 - any tools available? We have a customer who currently does sales forecasting in Excel, then massages those numbers to come up with a demand to import to MRP for the week. I was asked if there are any sales forecasting tools that work with Sage 100, so they can get off spreadsheets. Anyone have suggestions?

SIA would be my first suggestion.

I'm abbreviation challenged, what does SIA mean? Is that like BFF? It took me two years to figure out that wansn't like BFD...

@JeffSchwenk do you have real life experience with Sage Inventory Advisor? Being a coastal Californian, being the greatest thing since white bread isn't necessarily a compliment. Now stone ground Kamut Wheat, there you go! Anyone have input on Sage Inventory Advisor for Forecasting purposes?

Nope, no real life experience. Have watched the demo twice. The Sage Kool-Aid had a funny taste but I went back for seconds. I believe @MoiraGoggin or @JohnHoyt may have some experience..

Yes, @MoiraGoggin and I have one installation at a client of mine completed and the customer is tweaking their inventory based on suggestions from SIA. They are operational now, but on a maintenance basis probably starting March or April. (Everything takes sooo long for customers to do, so I always add a month or two.) We have another installation that could start as early as March, and are actively promoting the product. @MoiraGoggin is fully certified and no longer needs supervision from Sage on SIA. (As if!)

@MoiraGoggin - it looks like you are the current queen of SIA! I haven't paid much attention to SIA, didn't even remember there was a certification process. Do you have any input on SIA for a light mfg (BM production entry, not W/O) that is focusing on a tool for sales forecasting?

Why yes @ClarkWalliser there is a whole session at MOTM 2014 that I'll be presenting on that very topic. Are you attending MOTM this year - join my session! SIA is great with both distribution and manufacturing since it queries through item issues, sales history, purchase history and provides forecasting. The amount of analysis is quite robust and it will quickly show what actions need to be taken (out of stocks, potential out of stocks, excess inventory). Both reporting and graphs are presented so you don't need to dig through pages of info. just to get to the action items.
