Sage's Transfer of Ownership requirements - As I noted several weeks back, client is closing the doors after 35 years due to loss of significant account. Question being posed today is how can she sell her MAS 200 to a buyer. The sale is NOT a change of ownership, it is a sale of select assets of which the information system data would be part of. Has anyone seen or know where I can download the requirements to transfer MAS ownership to a new entity? I am thinking this may not be a saleable item.

We had found this in the EULA.

I just deleted my answer and wanted to clarify it -- per what we checked out in 2010, MAS can only be legally transferred to another company if it is bought along with all the other assets of the company.

Guess the question is what is ""all"" other assets..

Here is the relevant text from the EULA: ""You may transfer the Software to a purchasing party after the close of a sale of either Your entire business, or all, or substantially all, of the assets of Your business, provided that the purchasing party reads and accepts (in writing to Sage) the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the purchasing party agrees to other reasonable transfer requirements, and You do not retain a copy of the Software.

Anne Seidel is the one that handles this - I went through this with two customers. She is very tough to get in touch with and/or get a return call. Anne Seidel Sales Operations MAS PSR Sage 800-854-3415 ext. 340102

And since Sage is 100% in control of this - I tell the customer they must talk to Sage who is the final decision maker. Otherwise I could tell them the wrong thing and they hold me to my statement.
