Sages right hand vs. the left hand. Are they even

Sages right hand vs. the left hand. Are they even connected to a body? Note from business care handler on 3/27 in response to a question regarding perpetual to 100c migrations in April - Will a conversion be more expensive because Sage is no longer netting the ""upgrade"" to the perpetual price. **Yes, March is the last month for the promotion. Starting next month, most Sage 100c quotes will be more expensive than perpetual.** This is also confirmed with my Sage sales handler. So I ask her to quote my April renewals to see if it worth the bother of discussing options with client. **EVERY** 100c quote is netted down to perpetual pricing.... So why did I bother getting three clients to renewal their BC early last month?????

The promotion was extended through 4/28.

Will SAGE allow you to migrate from perpetual to SAGE 100c for renewals due to expire in May and June?

Geez, can't they make up their mind? Should I just assume it will be extended into May as well?

YES, I spent the last two days of March chasing BC renewal paperwork for a May renewal and a June renewal.

So far this year, I have turned about 8 clients to 100c WITHOUT an ounce of tier credit reward!!! Can you say PISSED OFF?

Why is this even a promotion? I think it is barely a sell to even up with an expectation that they are going to get a 10% increase next year with 100c or a 15% increase if they stay with 100 not to mention no access to additional features. It would want to make me evaluate new solutions (while making me feel trapped in what I already own.

Oh, they stopped that tier credit stuff. It has been stopped to help your business grow.

@LarryBradford I agree. I think we need to roll with the punches though. For most customers that means we get them into Sage 100c Premium for no added money and get them using Sage Intelligence Report Designer - both of which cost $$ with perpetual. Plus, if you can get the user price matched to 100c ""at least"" they are only seeing 10% increases. I have two recent maintenance renewals that were 24%. In essence, our role is to guide the customer through several unpleasant choices with Sage so that their decision has some benefit to them.

@LarryBradford - Can't disagree. But as Wayne is pointing out, you can move up to either ADV or Premium at no charge and this has value. Most of my client's aren't going anywhere and they plan on renewing BC. So why not try to get them a newer user interface and reduce (at least in the short term) their cost of ownership. And several clients are candidates for multi bin so that is an opportunity as well.

You can move to advanced or premium at no additional charge........ YET...... until they decide to change the price structure so the subscription price of the three flavors is different. Then what?

Is anyone else having customers with 100c getting lockups using the Standard (or new) UI? I have one who can't use it as she continually locks up. I think a few of their users are using it with no complaints but I connected to her and sure enough, go into a task and it freezes. You have to end the task to exit. v2016 Advanced. (They were at advanced prior to upgrading but we have other users that this is a good reason to go to 100c.)

Yes. Random lock ups for one workstation. Linda Cade at MOTM said there could be a couple of causes - multiple monitors on the workstation or workstations on the network running a mix of standard and classic theme. Neither of those have been the case with my customer. I did the following and haven't heard any hanging since - changed the workstations local c:\sage directory permissions to Full and changed the PDF printer port to local port C:\SagePDFPrinter. That was about a week ago. Linda Cade did say that the interpreter for PVXPlus has a flaw and causes issues with multiple monitors. The fix will be out in v 2018 since an interpreter fix requires a complete new master and that only happens during a new version release.

@DougHiggs - Sage doesn't even know what is happening on the short term horizon. That would mean their senior staff sticks around for more than 12 months. At this point, the only thing certain is that prices will continue to rise and that Sage will continue to be clueless.

@JeffSchwenk Of course, I am only speculating on Sage's future plans. and no.... there won't be any price decreases, at least until the herd starts fleeing to other publishers.

@MoiraGoggin is sage using PVXPlus? I didn't think so. As far as I know Sage is using their version of ProvideX. PVXPlus has a lot of changes in the current version than the older ProvideX that Sage is running for Sage 100. For the most part they are running on a forked version of ProvideX that probably will never see major changes.

I swear Linda Cade said PVXPlus, but the seagulls were flying overhead at the time trying to dive-bomb lunch plates so it is entirely possible I didn't hear her completely.

I would prefer if they did switch to PVXPlus. At least it would be on an interpreter that is being updated.

There is a big incentive to migrate to 100c and move to SQL. However, without payroll in Business Framework it is a barrier for some.

Did this indeed get fixed with the 2018 release??
