Sage won't launch after applying update.

    Hope someone is listening out there.
    I have a v2018 Adv.  I'm on the server, did a backup, applied PU10, the AP Utility, an Extended Solution and Custom programming.
    Turned the service on and Sage Workstation looks like it's starting but then goes away.  Never gets to WK Sync or login.
    I tried to run in MAS90 mode - no go.
    Tried run Advanced as an application - workstation still didn't launch.
    Did a reboot - didn't help
    uninstalled/installed wksetup - didn't help.
    Don't have access to TServer or Workstation to try it from there.

    Ideas?

    You could try renaming the Sage 100 folder in "documents" on the server.

    I just did that and it didn't even create a new one.

    Uninstall and reinstall the workstation after renaming that folder.

    Check the last few sections of soti.ini in sage\{sage 100 workstation}\mas90\ launcher.

    Probably not doti.ini.  Sorry I read your post again and not working in mas99 mode either.

    Maybe rename the links folder to rule out the enhancements.

    Tried all your suggestions, nothing.
    I can restore the MAS90 directory and it opens as MAS90 just fine.  I'm going to blow away my bad version and start over.

    Have you tried stopping service and renaming Sessions.pvk and Location.pvk and SY_Workstation, SY_Activity, SY_Console and trying again?

    Had a similar issue last month.  Turned out to be corrupted PEP files.  Replaced them and all was well.  Do you have to kill the PVX tasks when it dies?

    "..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_System.m4t" file in the problem installation, changing the BroadcastShutdown$ field from Y to N

    We have a winner in Jeff Schwenk!  I applied PU1, and it broke, replaced the PEP files and it worked.  Then applied the AP1099 Utility AP6001T and my enhancements and it was broke again so replaced the PEP files again and I'm in.  Was surprised I had to replace them twice.  
    Thank You Jeff and to everyone else for watching this site and your emails and giving suggestions.  My stress level is coming down!

    I try to generally turn it off too but sometimes miss some.  So I just connected back in and PEP was turned off in my backup copy and those are the ones I put back into the updated version.  Unfortunately I didn't keep the bad PEP to compare.


    MOD:  This is resolved and can be moved to Sage 100.

    Interesting thread @Nancy Hanson, wondering where the PEP files live that had to be replaced?​ I've never had to do that.
