Sage 100

Sage will not open after DSD enhancement download. Sage 100 Std 2014 -the customer wanted to change from Fiscal year to Calendar year over this Holiday weekend. The GL switch over went fine. Then i downloaded the IMFX510 enhancement into the Sage 2014 MAS90 folder and now Sage 100 will not open from the server or any workstation. The pvxwin32 is in the Task Manager indicating that it is running but the login screens will not open. Tried running pvxwin32 from the Home directory with the same result. Since I can't open Sage 100 the enhancement has not been Unlocked. Has anyone had a similar problem with this or any other enhancement and have a solution? DSD, like the rest of us, is/should be closed for the weekend.

Hi - when you run pvxwin32.exe from the home folder, do you get anything other than it is running in task manager ?

No-nothing

Any other enhancements in play? Reboot the server? I think there have been other posts within SC regarding minimized Sage panels. Maybe this is an issue.??

if you are just running pvxwin32.exe from windows, you may want to look at pvx.ini on the server .... - it is hard to imagine how DSD could affect pvxwin32.exe from windows.... - did you try running PVXWIN32.exe from the server and from a workstation with a mapped drive letter ?

Yes I ran pvxwin32 from the server and a workstation. Neither opened. Yes I agree about the DSD comment. However, I did the GL Fiscal year change. Opened GL and checked my account balances to see if my beginning/Ending balances were correct. They were - so I proceeded (everything was fine up to this point) to download the DSD Inventory Change enhancement. When I tried to Open Sage 100 by clicking the Launch icon like normal to Unlock the enhancement, nothing happened - just the Desktop screen. If I click the icon again, a message displays that a session is already running. I ended the task and tried again. Nothing.

Look at the icon for pvxwin32.exe. DSD has other enhancements that replace the original one. You can look at the other pvx named files and see if the sage logo is displayed. If so, rename that one to pvxwin32.exe

Just a though, do you have the correct version of DSD's enhancement?

I had to turn on procmon once when Sage wouldn't launch after migrating. It turned out PEP was acting up, even though I had opted out. I had to rename the SY_SagePEP.m4t file.

No not yet. Jon Reiter of DSD called me last night and said he would be in early this morning and get his staff working on diagnosing the problem. I appreciated his call even on a Sunday night so I could honestly tell the customer the problem was being worked on.

We have the solution but it is a very strange one. There was nothing wrong with the DSD Enhancement. Apparently right after I downloaded the DSD Enhancement , the customer's Internet modem started to go bad. I could log into their server and move around in Explorer, Control Panel, Task Manager and anywhere else except Sage. Then the server became unavailable altogether so I went to the Steelers/Browns game. The crowd went crazy when the scoreboard showed that the Bills beat the Jets and Pittsburgh was in the playoffs. Go Steelers!!! This morning Time Warner replaced their modem - Sage 100 immediately opened on all workstations and the DSD enhancement was registered. What the modem going bad has to do with Sage not opening is beyond me.

Well, there you go. Alls well that ends well!!!! It must be the season for flaky modems as I am wrestling with one a client in IA also. Oh, BTW, how were the sideline passes??

Sage advisor or PEP issue??? Spinning it's wheels trying to phone home?
