  • 1.  Sage VI import deleting orders

    I am getting some very strange messages with VI in one company. It is deleting open orders!

    It is not a complicated import, just zero out some UDF fields on the header page. No lines (details)
    Table: SO_SalesOrderHeader
    Data:
    Sales Order - Column 1
    AR Division: Column 2
    AR Customer: Column 3
    UDF Value - Assigning to zero

    Header and Line are marked as separate with corresponding  records table identifying Header rows.
    Note: I have tried with Header and Line together, but Sage says I should use Header and Line separate if not importing any lines information.

    The Issue: VI is giving me the following message on both Test and Accept
    "An Invoice Receipt is currently refencing purchase order for component. Can not delete"

    Of Course, VI is actually deleting orders, I am going from 162 orders to 34. 

    We do have Avatax and Operations Managements installed. No custom office scripts. V2021 Advanced.

    I have never seen a VI import job deleting active orders before and I am at loss on what is happening. 
    To make it more interesting, the same VI job worked in my other Operation Management company.

    Any ideas are appreciated

    Do you have any UDF's or other fields on the sales order header that are marked as "required" fields? That might cause Sage to fail.

    If that were it you would expect the error message to reflect that but this wouldn't be the first time I've seen totally unrelated error messages in VI J

    Are they Premium?  I had this issue with one client and they had Avatax.  I ultimately handled it through SQL.

    We are running Sage Advanced version 2021
    I am not seeing any required UDFs fields. Also, I did turn off the custom office so no scripts, etc would be run by using the *esc method.

    However, it still deletes open orders in just this one company code. I feel that it has to be data related, since it does not happen in the other company using the same VI job.

    Just strange, that it deleting orders on an import

    We actually ran into this with Sage 2020 Premium. Jane Scanlan (who I was working with at the time)ended up having to contact Scanco to get a program fix to resolve the issue. You should reach out to Jane. She will probably remember more about what the exact issue was and what program she needed to fix it.

    I had a customer call yesterday to report the same. Sage 2019 Advanced. They did a simple import to change order status to Hold and several orders got deleted. Haven't looked into it yet.

    This is a bona fide problem with Operations Management installed. If you are importing into SO Entry and doing the TEST import, that is when it is deleting records.  DO NOT RUN THE TEST is the last resolution that I had.

    UPDATE:  Fixed in versions 2020 6.20.4.0.0 and 2021 7.00.2.0.0
