  • 1.  Sage v2020 cannot print after v2023 install

    Posted 12-20-2023 16:58

Hi, I have an upgrade from 2020 adv to 2023 adv and the server has both installs. They are not live yet. Users in v2020 can print, forms and reports but cannot print journals or registers. They get the following error.

Unable to print PO_ReceiptOfInvoiceRegister.rpt.  Invalid index. (Exception from HRESULT:

    0x8002000B (DISP_E_BADINDEX))

There's a KB out there and I tried reinstalling the workstation. Installing crystal 2016 on the workstation and verifying database. Checked ODBC that it was pointing to right version of sage. Check path of data location in LM. This issue is for all users in v2020 and is an issue on the server too.

Try opening one of the journals and registers Crystal forms in Crystal Designer and run the Database>Verify Database and see if an error occurs.

i apologize.  After re-reading your post it says you already did a verify database.  Do you know if it happens on every workstation?

Try repairing the two added CR runtime updates (control panel...).

    Edit:

If things print, and the problem is just Paperless Office, run the PL_AdvancedOptions_UI uninstall / install to re-create the print object.

Oh!  If you installed v2023 as 64-bit, change it back to 32-bit.  Sage says they are not compatible on the same machine... and v2020 didn't have a 64-bit option.

Thank you. I installed 2023 32 bit. But I'll try the repair of the crystal runtimes on the server.

Usually, when I run into printing issues involving a v2023 install, my go to is to uninstall both Crystal runtimes, then reinstall the workstation.  That usually does the trick.

This has been resolved. Because we uninstalled production mgmt on v2020 some of the journals and registers had JT fields in them and once we removed them we were able to update again.
