  • 1.  Sage upgrade with Sage AP Automation - what steps are required for APA.

I picked up a new client with Sage AP Automation. I have never worked with this product. Who do I call for support? Client is on 2018 Adv. upgrading to 2022 Adv same server. What upgrade steps are required for Sage APA?

    TIA

It's pretty easy as there's just a synchronization piece that sits on the server. I don't believe there's anything that has to be installed over Sage 100 ( verify this with Beanworks/Quadient aka Sage AP Automation).

On our last upgrade there was some type of issue with the expanded check number causing some duplication in Sage AP Automation. I also think that you have to contact Quadient/Beanworks before going live with an upgrade and advise them what version you are upgrading to.

I always ping Ray Scarborough - r.scarborough@quadient.com - for questions and to be pointed to the best technical resource. Ray used to be with CIMcloud and I think at Quadient he runs their channels.

I made this Beanworks cheat sheet a year or more ago - it is probably outdated (certainly the pricing will need verifying and updating) but might be of some assistance with background info .

I have a customer who runs a small private school who took on Beanworks in the early days of Covid and they've had very positive results.

Based upon my experience with Beanworks | Quadrant, you need to contact support a good week in advance as they are very slow to respond.  All of my upgrades have required them to make a change on their end to the new version.  I have had to do some yelling and screaming to get support to respond.  I end up going thru Ray for help.  There is really only 1 person that is good in the support area unless they have hired someone else since March.  I like the product, the support needs to step up to the plate.
