Sage told us they were counting weekly checks/dd f

Sage told us they were counting weekly checks/dd for subscription and proceed to write code to check for active employees. Did I miss something?

I thought it was active employees... because in a Back Up Company, I anticipated needing to inactivate all employees.

@LarryBradford I was told it was based on checks also. I have a client that uses an outside service for payroll but wants to keep the Sage payroll(don't ask) module active. They were quoted for 10 employees since she was not really going to be printing out checks. I told them she had 48 employees active and they said it was ok.

I wish Sage would write code for something of value . . .

I was told it was the count of employees paid within the quarter.

From the Sage Order Form, Payroll Note #4 ""Payroll tier is determining by the number of paychecks processed for active employees during a pay period

If that's the case, what does it do when a company has multiple pay cycles? i.e. hourly employees paid weekly, salary paid twice a month

@PhilMcIntosh , or three entities on alternating cycles. The explanation of measuring based on checks seemed (in my thought process) hard to code. Now clients are getting messages for number of active employees. This mornings client said they inactivated those not being paid. This afternoons client sent me a screenshot. My question is what happens if you click that button that ""Don't Warn"". How does a client efficiently increase their count.

@LarryBradford - _""How does a client efficiently increase their count?"" EFFICIENTLY?? How about ""even have a prayer of doing it at all"" And Sage has told me to stop being snarky!!!!! I would like to see a report that would detail the employees being counted.

One client told me they thought they had a button that prompted them to increase their count. That sounds like a portal. Even a link to a website to instigate a conversation would be great. I don't care if they order direct from Sage. Then again the margin on the additional $100 to $200 would still be nice.

Snarky"" implies still having a sense of humor about it. They should be careful what they wish for...

Do we have to go through the 5 day process (3 for a quote and 2 to process) to increase their count? What happens if they don't address it?

There is a grace period and then the system stops processing new checks. Assuming, of course, that the code actually matches the stated policy...

When this happened to me last month. I asked for a QUOTE for going to the next level. The next morning, client calls and wants to know if the invoice he received that morning was actually an invoice ($86) or the quote I had asked for. Sage doesn't do quotes.... So Sage can be very nimble when it comes to taking client's money...

Reasons to be snarky, part 3(billion) - from a customer on Gold plan: ""Patiently waiting for SAGE to call me back. It's been 45 minutes. I guess their tech support doesn't work like it used to?

@JeffSchwenk A customer just received a credit for about $6,000 for incorrect charges to credit card in addition to 100c charges. They asked ""shouldn't they be giving some sort of credit for overcharging for so long?"" My answer: Some sort of credit . . . from Sage . . . an interesting concept.
