  • 1.  Sage to Partners: Deprecation of x86 (32-bit) and sData

    Posted 05-02-2024 13:28

Posted to the Partners section of Sage City (link):

Sage 100 NA has been available in x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) architecture since the 2021 release. In two years with the release of version 2026.0, currently scheduled for April 2026, we'll be deprecating the x86 (32-bit) version of Sage 100. With 32-bit instances becoming increasingly rare, discontinuing support for this version will help mitigate the risks associated with maintaining two separate versions.

Similarly, we will be deprecating support of sData, effective in one year as part of the 2025.0 release, currently scheduled for April 2025. sData was developed internally and was replaced years ago by Business Objects. It was used for exchanging information with our application; however, other, better options exist for doing this today. Current customers will still be able to use connections on sData, but if they upgrade to version 2025 or greater, they will lose access and we will no longer offer it as an option.

That is just SData.  Today's posting is also stating that the 32-bit version of Sage 100 is going away too.

Yup.  Just a matter of time.

Though I am not quite in agreement with "With 32-bit instances becoming increasingly rare" but that is the direction.
