Sage Subscription Expired Yesterday.

  • 1.  Sage Subscription Expired Yesterday.

    The client paid their renewal on 5/21.  Subscription expired yesterday.  The client is in a read-only mode today.  Obviously, the client is very pissed.  Contacted Sage (various people), but the problem still exists.

    Tick Tick Tick.

    Does anyone at Sage have a sense of urgency????

    I've had this happen with a couple of customers recently. Once I went into System Config, Registration tab, and clicked Update, or Edit then Update, the codes synced up and the system was operational again. I've no idea why this happens to some and not others.

    If there are new license keys I don't rely on the auto key update... I Edit then Activate (...and restart the service... and copy activate.pvx to the workstation folder on a terminal server...).

    Wayne has a list of URLs to allow through the firewall, if the licensing site is being blocked...

    What a POS response.....

    What version are they on?  This is probably not the cause as this is an older issue but did you double check the TLS being used?  Fiddler by telerik will tell you what version is being used.

    I ran into this problem before where the registration key wouldn't update - I listed the steps I followed here. And this is one of those issues that could be several things including Sage not updating the keys in the back end.

    Had one of these in May.  Took Sage about 3 hours to resolve, so until then no one could access Sage 100.  The expiration warning message had been appearing for weeks but we told the client it's fine as Sage probably just didn't process the renewal yet.  Then boom, 1 week later, can't access Sage 100 at all; locked out completely.

    I have a user that used to have trouble renewing.  I worked with their IT company and tried everything Sage recommended and nothing worked.  Sage insisted it was something environmental on the send user's system even though they have had Sage 100 for 20 years.

    Eventually I made a copy of their mas90 folder and put it on my laptop.  The registration went through correctly.  I then copied the following files to their live system (after backing up the original files of course.). MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM\SY_SYSTEM.M4T file has the registration keys in it. 
    MAS90\Home\Microsoft.NET\Sage100.SLS.Client\download\sls_download_xxxxxxx.xml

    Yes.  A day or two before the registration was suppose to renew each month I initiated the registration/activation from my laptop then copied the files to their server.  After a couple of months their system started registers correctly again.  I asked IT what they did and they replied "nothing since we worked on it two months ago".  I believe their was something going on with one of the licensing servers.  My laptop probably connected to a different licensing server.

    @Doug Higgs - hmph.  Have a similar situation except I can manually force the registration on THEIR server, it just won't do it automatically.  Until it does, some months.  Then a couple of months later, it won't again.

    All I can say is THANK GOD FOR RONNIE ASPE!!!!

    Sales kept saying let us know if it is still a problem after the 2 PM license update.  WTH!  No one can access the system and they respond with wait four hours???

    Once Ronnie was aware of the issue, he fixed it in 15 minutes.

    Goodness, Atlanta could be on fire and sales acts like this???

    Thanks for all the posts.  Not sure if Sage is really ready for prime time!

    In my view what you're seeing is a sunsetting of Sage's responses to their bread and butter products.  It's probably a culture change and incentivized by KPI that emphasize whatever product is the focus of Sage's attention this year.

    Just waiting for someone to reach out to the client and say those three magic words - "We f'd up" or at "we are sorry for the dismal response you received" or "What can we do to turn that frown into a smile"?  Besides "can we grab you by the ankles, turn you upside down and shake more money out of your pockets?"

    A Mediterranean cruise awaits me.  See you in a few.

    Yes, at MOTM a few years ago Ronnie said that he is the one to escalate license key issues to... since (...paraphrasing...) nobody else has the expertise / access to get things done properly, when normal stuff doesn't work.
