We have a mule of a client that want's to increase his 15-user count for his v2016 Sage 100 STANDARD to 29 users.  He does not intend the majority of them to utilize Terminal Services.  Of the 29, he is hoping to get 2-22 running Sage 100 locally, inside his facility, without TS.  The other 7-9 will RDP to the Terminal Server, from remote offices.

Do we have access to a Sage type Document that limits the number of users supported on Sage 100 Standard?

Yes, I know that if he goes to 100cloud and Subscription based licenses, he can move to Advanced for free, and save $$$.  But like I said when I started my post, he is a stubborn mule and refuses to understand.  I'd like some type of document in black and white to help my argument.

Sage resolution 508710 ( which no longer appears to be available online ) states a maximum of 401 installed workstations and 255 concurrent users.

I have a copy of the KB here. It appears to have been written in the 4.30 days but likely still applies.

If the question is what is the max # of users that can be on Standard before a move to Advanced is required - I am not aware of any such limit though I have had many customers given numbers by Sage. So far as I recall the user counts that the customers were given varied. I believe it is a myth that Sage 100 Standard has some hardcoded numbers which after that number requires Advanced. The myth is likely more prevalent around 9/30 fiscal year-end sales promotion time.

I seem to remember at one point you couldn't take standard past 20 users, but hat was Sage not selling it when they could force you to upgrade to Advanced

I think these days with gigabit routers and NIC's, he could probably get away with it.  Or visualize the server and stick a virtual RDS box on it as well and you practically eliminate the network cabling which was a huge reason for the slowness.  Have him sign a paper outlining the risks and go for it.
