Well I have some fantastic updates from SAGE and I wanted to share with the group before I respond. When we last discussed this at the retreat - SAGE had come in lower than the requested sponsorship with nothing added.
Well, that has changed. It seems that SAGE is looking and willing to find the funding to be the exclusive publisher at MOTM 2023.
The initial request for this was $50,000, inclusive of a full day of pre-conference content (which I do not think they even want yet), 25 tickets, Keynote, etc.
The offer was $40,000, 20 tickets and no priority on the added time at the conference.
Given that SAGE has only sponsored up to $15,000 the past several years, I view this as a huge step in investing in our group. I would not make this exclusive membership, meaning, we would still have the Acumaticas of the world as members as they see fit. I am even open to a secondary conference without SAGE.
So I mention this because I do not view it as us giving anything up at this point.
I have already discussed this with Kate and Robert but would love for you to weigh in on any comments or concerns. If not, I will propose we accept the $40,000 exclusive sponsorship and see how it goes.
