Sage 100

Sage says this is the last year form updates are being released, as W2's and 1099's need to be filed electronically in 2014. Probably a stupid question, but does this mean clients will have to purchase Electronic Reporting or is it being given to customers?

It means you have to start using Aatrix for everything!

I'm guessing that the e-Filing part of Aatrix is not free though?

Free????? What is that in the Sage world? But it may be more accurate!

You should still be able to print forms for free.

It's my understanding you'll still have the option of printing and/or e-filing via ""eFiling and Reporting"" (i.e., Aatrix) - per #23 of the attached. The ""eFiling and Reporting"" function is part of the standard Sage 100 product (just have to install the workstation piece), but fees apply for filing electronically. (""Electronic Reporting"" is the old Mag Media, correct?)

#23 Note: After the 2013 Tax Filing Year, Sage will no longer be providing standard W-2, 1099 and 941 form changes in the standard Sage 100 product. You will be able to use eFiling and Reporting feature, which allows you to either print W-2, 1099 and 941 forms directly to your printer and/or eFile directly to applicable tax agency through Aatrix. New installations of Sage 100 ERP will not have the 3 menu tasks listed. To enable these tasks, from the toolbar menu click File > Run and type the utility name *unhidetaxforms When these menu options are unhidden, these installations will get the same warning message to say that 'starting in 2014no longer supported'.
