  • 1.  Sage Refund Check to Customer Bounces

    E-mail I just received from a Sage 100 customer that Sage overcharged....

    Maybe you can help me with this.  I received a partial refund from Sage for an overpayment, but the check bounced with a "refer to maker" error.  There is no contact number shown on the check.  Would you have an A/P number for them I could call?

    Issue resolved after many hours of going back and forth.  Sage claimed they never processed/charged the customer for 2018 renewal when charging them for 2019 renewal.  Sage applies payment sent for 2019 renewal to 2018 amount due and issues a refund check for overpayment.  Check bounces which turns out that Sage did a stop payment but never told anyone once they realized their mistake after sending a refund check.

    We continue to have Sage 100cloud accounts being overcharged for renewals with the most recent account going up by 23%.  We request a refund for the customer and then Sage does another overcharge the next month.  So many wasted hours on our part trying to correct Sage mistakes and customers totally frustrated.

    @Steve Engmann how are you catching these? I find the customer is charged directly and if there is an issue it's only because the customer caught it on their credit card statement months later. Now that Sage bills everything directly I spend almost no time reviewing these invoices any longer mostly because I am no longer involved with billing the customer for Sage maintenance.

    @Wayne Schulz we still maintain a database with renewal dates and past renewal amounts, then compare the Sage credits to see if they are accurate.  If different, I log into the Sage portal to see what Sage has charged the customer.​​  Since the price increase, most of our customers have been overcharged.  IMO, it is such a mess that Sage has stopped telling DSD what the renewal amounts are since I believe they know their system is wrong.
