    After reading Sage's announcement here

    https://www.sagecity.com/support_communities/sage100_erp/f/sage-100-announcements-news-tips/125640/sage-100-announcing-sage-production-management-for-sage-100-2019

I'm trying to compile some additional things to know before installing PM

    1. It turns Work Order to read-only
    2. Installing PM impacts all company codes - for example all company codes have WO turned to read-only
    3. It does not convert work order history
    4. MRP is not ready ( estimated June 2019 )
    5. If you use MB you must use Scanco MB ( conversion tool from other MB may be available )
    6. Sage will automatically trade your WO license for 3 user PM - but you do not need to install PM right away
    7. WO is planned to be around until 2021

    Any other items?
Anything above that isn't accurate or needs further explanation?

What is a prudent "wait" time for this module? I am thinking at least the first product update. When I talked to Scanco at Summit they said they were still working through what their product update schedule would be. They seemed willing to issue updates outside of the regular Sage Product Update schedule.

Can someone who has followed the initial 2019 instructions to install PM, post the install guide here? The instructions say that an installation guide PDF will be downloaded when you start the PM installation

"5. If you use MB you must use Scanco MB ( conversion tool from other MB may be available )"

This is interesting considering DSD multi-bin basic is part of the "cloud" subscription.

If you wait, don't we expect a later version of PM to convert WO history to some extent?  Or am I confusing history with existing open WO's?

Don't think there are any plans for HISTORY conversion.

@Doug Higgs The standard packaged MB was a Sage choice back when the management of the JobOps product simply said they can do what they want. That management (which is no longer there) had delayed for YEARS the integration with the ACSG MB and was not even close to completing that, so it seems they wanted to take the pressure off.

Now Sage has put their money on Scanco, so it is Sage's responsibility to figure out how to rationalize this situation. Obviously Scanco will be using and requiring their MB. Sage has to deal with it, but I'm not sure if they will.

The initial version will convert open work orders but not history (Scanco says the history tables are not consistent and often corrupted).  Converting history (WOL, WON etc) Might come in a later version. During the converstion from WO to PM, all of the work order tables remain intact in the WOXXX folder and can be accessed via ODBC (so I've been told). That will help to some degree for reporting, but will be convoluted as new history will be in PM and old history will be in WO.  We have a big client with a ton of history we are currently keeping a SQL Data warehouse with all the history anyway. I'm thinking we will union the old history and new history together in the SQL tables and if history can be converted later we can reassess at that time.
