Yes, Aatrix is doing the forms. They have done very little to payroll outside of what was required for ACA

They really should bump this a year. the sudden change will completely swamp any customer effort to understand how this compares to their options. This might be the only one of Pascal's plans that they carried forward. Completely insensitive.

Here's the explanation for the transition to Payroll tiers: Sage can do whatever they want once you're on the hook.

I think this will result in a significant portion of current PR customers decide to stop processing internally. And the way Sage appears to be treating them, most will not choose Sage as their processor.

@ThereseLogeais that's only because they're going to want us to drop our fees so the customers can afford to pay Sage.

The questions I submitted. Doubt they will be answered, no matter how ""great"" they think they are: (1) So raise the future price - raising the maintenance price on existing customers by thousands of percent when they have gotten basically nothing for their maintenance for the past five years is guaranteed to generate ill-will. (2) Many customers are only on maintenance at all because of payroll - make that unaffordable and they will drop Sage maintenance altogether (3) Will you test these keys before sending them out? Sage's track record on this is NOT good... (4) So are you going to pay us for our time listening to customer rants about this?

I'm sorry! As much as I like Sage 100 Payroll, it isn't an industry level product even with the changes promised.

FWIW - my chat posts. Q: Sage 100 Payroll in NOT underpriced considering the lack of development over the last 15 years. It's not even in new framework. Q: Logic of usage and fairness is inconsistent. I've never heard a customer complain about fairness. All modules are used with different volumes by different customers. Applying this to current customers IS unfair. Q: Not all Sage 100 customers use Direct Deposit. In fact, few do. Q: You would have a better case launching this with new framework and new features. Q: What does ""employees they pay"" mean? Do you mean Active employees, checks per pay cycle, W2s? Q: Merely incorporating direct pay to bank is incomplete. You should also be sending tax payments and 3rd party payments (401k, insurance, garnishments, etc) AND create AP invoices or Manual checks as well. Q: Other payroll providers have been investing in PR and even incorporating HR functions. Sage 100 Payroll is woefully unimproved and customers already feel they are not getting value for their maintenance dollars. Q: Customers have already been forced into increased costs because of Aatrix. They have realized some value in Aatrix but not the PR module which except for tax tables is severely outdated. Q: In a nutshell, this is a bad idea with bad timing.

FWIW I recently spoke to a tech who left Sage HRMS a couple months ago. He said that the Paychoice product wasn't working out as well as Sage hoped.

Yep. The bureaucracy is completely tone deaf about how to make any customer-facing decision or presentation. When this PR thing blows up next month, do you think Uecker will step in directly? Or will she be gone by then?

So I was out of the loop on this presentation. Is there a change to normal maintenance or was this all about payroll?

This was all about payroll. Out: Maintenance on payroll / direct deposit In: 7 tiers of pricing based upon # of employees. Also includes direct deposit Sage webinar TL;DR summary: We massively underpriced payroll so we are changing pricing

NEXT emergency presentation will be all about 100c pricing after they drop that bomb on us via an email blast. And once again, they will bemoan the fact that they didn't have the presentation first.

my two Q&A questions for which for there are no answers. 1: is DD 2.0 backward compatible with any current versions or just 2016?. 2:If a customer is not using DD how will they know how many active employees are in use? (from the AATRix reports? is it tied to the new license key somehow? I have 10 employees - ""honestly""!))

I don't know how Sage can tell the # of employees unless it's flowing through either (a) Aatrix or (b) Sage Advisor. It seems Sage would have to revamp their keys tracking/management (inside Sage 100) in order to regularly pick up this information. I can only see this working with some type of ""phone home"" key check.
