  • 1.  Sage PR Deductions - How to delete/hide deductions no longer being used

    That time of year again where PR deductions are no longer used but are viewable on the deduction tab.  Has anyone encountered a way to "clean up" the display of unused codes?  You used to be able to delete them, but highlighting the deduction does not activate the delete icon to the right.  Asking for a friend.....

    Isn't there a button to the right to set up deductions? Can you delete it in there?

    You can't delete if used in previous years, and I haven't found a way to hide yet.  Seems like this would be a simple fix... (sort of Mod Squad-ish kind of fix, ya know)...

    Yes, some coding that only displays deductions for the year in question would be ideal.  But that is probably too simplistic of an approach.  For example, let's say the deduction has been dormant for an employee for a year or more.  And in 2022, how would you get it to display?  Click on add to reactivate?

    I suppose a 'hide' button would work the same way invoices with zero balances work in AR and AP - as an option on the screen and a default in PR options. We can add it to the mod squad list.

    It is a bit of a concern since v2.22 was just released.  And given that Sage's resources (uh, what is left) are all working on fixing  PM scheduled for a March release (only three months away).  So this MOD fix could easily be six to 12 months away.  Sage certainly is trying their very best to drive users to a different software.

    Just an FYI on the influence of the Mod Squad on these requests. We can only make recommendations and cannot pressure Sage to include them into future releases. Nor do we have influence over their production calendar. Of the 66 recommendations presented by the Mod Squad over the last 2 years, 22 have made it into the product... so far. We have another 120 we're paring down now of which this is one. Unlike previous years, we'll be asking the general membership to help rank the recommendations. This will be coming soon. Better communication with the squad and Sage is coming in 2022. Hopefully this will facilitate influencing and expediting future modifications and hopefully this request makes it on this quarter's list.
