No. It will have a different name - Sage 100.

I just looked at the Sage 100 roadmap PDF and the SQL payroll actually appears to be the Accpac payroll

So if someone wants to move to the SQL platform, but they have payroll, will they be given the SQL payroll to replace the MAS payroll? Will there be a data conversion? I'm thinking no on both counts, but thought I'd ask.

And, will there be integration with bank rec or is it just a GL integration like Abra Payroll?

Dawn, Sage did ""give"" Abra to our 3.74 customers who owned the payroll module. The reason I say ""give"" is that the software was free as long as they started paying maintenance on it. If Sage doesn't voluntarily give them SQL payroll, I would certainly ask them for it. A data conversion utility...not happening. I'd be surprised if there is BR integration. Also, from experience, there is a damned steep learning curve for customers moving from MAS payroll to Abra SQL payroll (which is the Accpac payroll). I'm not saying that you can't get there (we have helped customers get there) but plan accordingly.

Is the accpac payroll built in the accpac language or is this some standalone solution? MAS90is becoming a steaming pile of 3rd parties that will be a nightmare to install and maintain all these various databases, installs, technologies, DLL's etc.

I am attaching a screenshot of the Accpac payroll - Abra has its own ""wrapper"" screen, but the guts of it (tabs & grids) are using the Accpac SDK screens. Accpac uses ActiveX, and Accpac itself is (at least for the most part if not entirely) written in the SDK.

Isn't ActiveX basically a dead technology now?

ActiveX is still supported on Windows 8, and the Accpac interface rewrite using the Google Web Toolkit was killed off a couple of months ago (although I think the business logic components were still going to be ActiveX).
