Sage Partner Portal - I log in , click on the knowledgebase, then: ""The entered account does not have access to this website. "" Great. Now what?

You know Doug I'm surprised to hear you talking like that. I've talked to hundreds of partners about the portal and every one of them told me how much they liked the fact that we removed their access to the website. They say it's given them more time to get out and sell and more time to attend webinars to teach them about how to promote the add-on of the moment. Why are you so negative about Sage? Love, - Sage VP Channel Partners

.......and of course the tech support on hold queue is probably 2 hours.... what a waste of time.

I get the same message - have been all day, What on earth made me think that by now Sage would have been aware of this and fixed it

.... maybe they intentionally blocked all 90Minds members due to excessive sarcasm.

I can't get in either. What a way to start Monday!

I thought sarcasm was better than admitting that when I got the error this morning, I really DID think that Sage would have it fixed by now.

I was given the same error @DougHiggs all weekend and this morning as well. Had to call in this morning and the tech told me that there are many who are having the same issue with the new KB. He even told me that they had only dumped 300 entries over so far which is keeping the tech's limited as well. This is going to be a fun week!

There's a technical computer term for this situation: ""We're Screwed"".

Just catching up and tried to access and also sign up for this (which is stated was required). It didn't like my account! And my RSM has had partners call about it, but he has no idea what is going on.

Good news !!! Poof - only one pesky Error 47 left. ;-)

  • 20.  RE: Sage Partner Portal - I log in , click on the know

    Posted 11-25-2013 18:46
@BobPfahnl That's fantastic! If I get a call for an error 47 tomorrow I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is for a payroll data entry issue. ... otherwise we are stuck.... maybe this is the new strategy of Sage.... don't give us any tools to solve problems and maybe the customers will call them directly.

Toooooo funny @DougHiggs - Here is the experience of a client that is on the gold plan. They are trying to delete inventory items using the delete/merge/rename utility. They have a about a hundred records that they can't delete because there is record in the open PO table. After waiting for a Sage solution for nearly two weeks, they call me. I just merge the records into one record and mark it do not use. Yes, they still have to figure out the error message (I would if I could access the KB), but they have 99 fewer records to get their shorts twisted over. Today, I get a call from them. They just installed a WIN 7 Pro 64 OS (still on v4.3). They can't get the Azalea bar codes to print from this machine. Sage sends them the two 64 bit DLL's but they still can't the bar codes to print. So they call me. I have them install the Azalea fonts from WKsetup. Takes 10 minutes. Two strikes from a client on the GOLD plan......... Client has other issues (still on v4.3) but Sage certainly isn't helping their cause one bit.

    Posted 11-25-2013 21:45
@JeffSchwenk Those are great examples...... if the client calls you for tech support, they get you. If they call Sage for tech support, it is a crap shoot.... you may get an Alnoor, but more than likely, you get level 1 support ( just started a month ago), or level 2 support (started 1 year ago AND has taken 2 anytime learning courses).

It's Tuesday morning, 8:00 am here in Michigan and I am getting the ""We're Screwed"" message: ---- ""The entered account does not have access to this website.""---- I guess I better mail in my CC renewal fee SAGE asked for last week.

@MichaelMcDonald Didn't we just pay $1000 in July for something? What's the $650 for? Don't tell me it's for the certification classes we don't have to take this year. BTW, I never got my commission check that normally arrives in Oct (for Sept renewals). I did received a check in Nov for Oct renewals but it didn't include my Sept renewal. Seems like accountings a mess too.

The $650 is for the certified consulting ounce of blood. Must have in addition to the certified reseller...

Well, the good news is that they didn't schedule the ""upgrade"" at year end. The bad news is that they won't have it fixed by then either...........

isn't it 5:00PM somewhere in the world. Bartender, a round of drinks for my friends. And don't let them see the bottom of the glass. Tonight is going to be a long one!!!!!!

    Posted 11-26-2013 07:52
Call me lucky but I am not getting the errors you are. I searched for error 47 and it came up with a page full. I can also access the other product lines I am not certified for, e.g. Sage 500. Now is that lucky or unlucky?

  • 31.  RE: Sage Partner Portal - I log in , click on the know

    Posted 11-26-2013 08:07
Wow you are getting the actual Knowledgebase for Sage 100? I guess we are going to have to have you look up the errors for us :) You must know someone we don't know... or maybe they just haven't gotten to the east coast yet. I don't think one system they have tried to implement has worked right yet.

  • 32.  RE: Sage Partner Portal - I log in , click on the know

    Posted 11-26-2013 08:09
If you need a look up, let me know and I'll if I can find anything!

How about sharing your login access so we don't overload you with lookup requests.....

Ha ha ha! Then you'd have access to all my beloved customers.....

Oh, but I wouldn't go there..........

    Posted 11-26-2013 09:01
I don't know if anyone is aware of this (and I hope Sage doesn't figure it out) but the OLD knowledgebase is still out there and can be accessed. I'm talking about the one prior to the Sage Portal rollout. it probably has not been updated in over a year but could be helpful in some situations. I don't think you even need a login to access it here is the link: http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/search.asp I haven't used it in a long time but when they first rolled out the sage portal and had a bunch of issues with it then, I kept the link and used it. I just tried it and looked up a couple of common things and got a bunch of hits.

  • 37.  RE: Sage Partner Portal - I log in , click on the know

    Posted 11-26-2013 09:36
I use the old portal when I need a link to email a customer. Another secret is that many of the link to Atlas items are only password protected in order to access the page they are on. The supported platforms , for example, you can copy the links on the page and they will work without login. Not sure if that will change with the update to the KB.

  • 38.  RE: Sage Partner Portal - I log in , click on the know

    Posted 11-26-2013 10:06
I received another email this morning about the new and improved KB. I guess I am to take their word for that since I still cannot access. Exhausting.

From my RSM this morning: The resolution for today is to contact Customer Support directly. They know there are issues and can assist you with what you need.

Perhaps we can bring this up at the ITA session that Sage is presenting. A technology company that doesn't quite get it!!!!!

Jeff let me save you some time and effort -- as someone who has previously tried to discuss these things with Sage. I copy and paste the typical response that I get from them (taken from my reply to Doug above) You know Doug I'm surprised to hear you talking like that. I've talked to hundreds of partners about the portal and every one of them told me how much they liked the fact that we removed their access to the website. The old knowledgebase still works if you need to refer to it: http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/Search.asp?Submit=1

@JohnHoyt Did your RSM say that his workaround (calling tech support) would be no charge?

Good point - perhaps this will become a new profit center.
