Sage Ordering/Quoting/Pricing - Back to the Future????? Is it me or has Sage gone back to the mid 90's for pricing? Difficult (if not impossible) to enter a quote on SOS for new licenses, the new Excel pricing spreadsheet is a bear to work with, it doesn't include 3rd party products (e.g. KnowledgeSync) and you basically have to get a Sage Sales person to verify EVERYTHING for you plus you have to provide a signature for the order. This next week should be very interesting..............

I've thought the same thing. Sage made a big production of how pricing would get so much easier and if anything it seems to have gotten more complex in the timeline within which they promised it to get easier (future 2011+ pricing may get better but that's not the time period I'm talking).

When is the last time Sage actually made ANYTHING easier for a reseller?

Oops, SSO or BOSS or the Sage website. All have the same meaning for me. SOS may have been a Fruedian slip........

I wind up calling Sage for most of the pricing. They used to put on a real attitude if you didn't place the order online. Now it seems I get less 'tude --- possibly because the phone sales folks realize that us calling actually validates the need for them to keep answering phones and in turn keep their jobs.

This was my problem yesterday trying to order KnowledgeSync. I remember the days when you could go to Sage Software Online (SSO), enter the customer and product line and it would bring up things the customer didn't currently own that you could order. Even a few months ago, I KNOW I saw KnowledgeSync listed but it is nowhere to be found now. I finally contacted sales and they entered the quote for me which I was then able to see on SSO - and convert to an order...
