A document in the Sage Partner Hub indicates Sage will soon be surveying customers about their reporting needs. I'm curious what this may indicate for the future of Sage Intelligence which doesn't seem to receive attention in terms of updates.
My concern is whether I should continue to suggest SI as a reporting tool or whether it's time to focus on a different tool?
It also seems BizNet ( now part of Insight Software ) is less prominent. I'm not sure if that's because as customer use of reporting tools expanded they found that Excel was not the best solution due to issues like speed and ability to modify the reports ( and create franken-spreadsheet). Or whether it's just that BizNet was acquired and perhaps this concern is completely unfounded and most customers are very happy with spreadsheet-based reporting and I should continue to recommend Sage Intelligence.
From my view/experience most of my customers have seen "spreadsheet" and immediately think they are going to self-install and self-maintain Sage Intelligence. For the most part this works except I tend to get mostly emergency calls about setting up Intelligence for a new workstation or when a DLL can't be loaded to a specific workstation. It's been nearly impossible ( or maybe I haven't worked hard enough ) to gain significant experience with Sage Intelligence as most customers take the product and work on their own with it.
1. What's the future of Sage Intelligence?
2. If you are NOT recommending Sage Intelligence - what do you recommend?
3. Other thoughts on the above
