I don't get this field service. Does it integrate to Job Cost (I don't think so) or create any type of history? Who would use this if in fact it does not create a history? Would seem to only be suitable for the very small business. Update: Demo shows ability to review history.

I have a Job Cost customer that would really like this capability .... if it connected to SAGE 100 ERP Job Cost.

I didn't get the impression that it integrated with JC. It appeared to be a field service scheduler for the small mom and pop HVAC, plumbing, etc. where home owners call for service. These are typically one day only jobs where you go on site, fix the problem, make a list of items used on the job, enter your time, present the bill and ask for payment.

It looks like the service invoice came back into AR invoice data entry, so no integration with inventory.

I actually have a couple clients that could benefit from this. Unfortunately, their level of tech savvy is a tad week. Will be interesting to see how this shakes out. I wonder how this stacks up against other field service products that already exist with Sage 100.

Anyone notice how many attendees where in the audience?

I don't think they displayed # of attendees. It looks like Sage also keeps all the history of your field service on their web site. So in essence if you need history you would have to keep paying Sage. Maybe you've serviced a contractor of any size who does not need history but I have never seen it before ever. They are always looking to see what they did last year, etc. With this solution I think you can get that info so long as you remain a subscriber. It's not different really than any other cloud provider. You're locked in.

Yes, they did display the list of attendees. I noticed it a couple minutes after the session ended. Most had dropped the site by that time. There were about 10 - 15 names displayed.

I can't really decide whether these apps are going to receive a big following or not. Since Sage does the install and configure I think my recommendation to customers would be to go for it and that the most they can lose is the $400 or so setup fee plus the few months of payments. One hurdle is going to be that customers need to be relatively current -- or on Sage 100 ERP 2013. This will knock some out of the running as potential users. i'd have to think long and hard before I advised a customer to undergo an upgrade (assuming it's costly) just to run one of these mobile apps. I don't want to be seen as ""the guy who charged us $x,xxx"" just so we can use these mobile apps. I think the billing/payments has the greatest chance of success. I can't see field service working on the Sage 100/300/500 level. And I'm unsure if Mobile Sales has enough features for Sage 100/300/500 level customers. The Mobile Sales demo looks intriguing but what is the reality? In order to get all those pretty pictures of inventory items the customer may have to spend some major time updating inventory. Also some of my larger customers make extensive use of notes to warn about things like payments due or credit risks. I'm unsure how those notes would work in Mobile Sales (I am guessing not at all).
