Sage Mobile Solutions not quite there yet? After viewing, the Sales Kits on 'mysagesell.com' and also an extra demo with H&B it seems the mobile solutions aren't quite ready yet. A few observations mobile sales all warehouse stock is included not filtered by warehouse, all customers too, the ERP data has to be feed into the 'catalog' rather than read from IM. Salesreps see all customers, not just those assigned to them. Mobil Payments looks a bit more promising but requires an SPS account. What's your experience so far? Actively pursuing or what and see?

Thank you for the update. I've been curious about this myself. In my view as I have customers who are curious I'm going to explain that it's a new offering from Sage, probably not as full featured as they'd like but very low risk for them to try. If they are not happy they can discontinue after a short period of time which I think is either 3 or 4 months.

Yes I believe that's correct, the 3-4 months. Have you had customer's asking about the product, which one?

I had one customer ask about mobile sales. I think they saw a demo last week. I have been trying to stay out of the middle of these deals because my sense is that they're not ready for prime time and even when they are that they probably are going to be more for Sage 50 type customers.

I've been playing with Sage Mobile Service. One major omission is that you cannot create a customer on-the-fly, so a dispatcher has to create the customer in Sage 100 and wait for it to sync before assigning a work ticket. No drag-and-drop from unassigned tickets. Once assigned, you can drag to another service tech. No invoicing directly from service tech. The invoice has to come back to Sage Mobile Payments where is then sent out.

I have been trying to get questions answered for one of my biggest customers for 2 weeks. Sales told me to contact Jennifer Schwartz. I have left 3 voice mails for her without a return call. Does anyone know how we can obtain our reference library copy, or if one even exists. Kind of difficult to learn and sell this by watching Powerpoint presentations.

If you have a demo image, the connector is installed there. You just need to contact Partner Programs Manger Sheri Thompson (sheri.thompson@sage.com) about getting a Sage ID. They will also send you swipers for your iPhone/iPad.

Go to the inspire tour. Our sales rep had a prospect who was very interested and tried to get a demo. Got dates from our rep, contacted the customer, called back in an hour and was told the time was no longer available. At the Inspire tour she met a sales rep who happens to be in Atlanta and had a demo scheduled for the next day on the spot. Not only is the product not ready for prime time, but neither is the Sage sales organization. The customer has to have very basic needs (this prospect does) and then it demo's great. Just get all the requirements before you sell. xkzero still MUCH more functional. My $0.02

I feel as if it could be VERY helpful is we compiled the observations about these apps into one place. I sense after an initial tire kicking many of us won't go back to review again. It'd be helpful to have some notes on each app made while we are all still fresh.

I'm sure Paul and his team have a nice product. As a developer, and as a competitor of Xkxero in the Chicago market, I would like to make my own evaluations of the off the shelf product. I am sure my client will need changes and I prefer to handle these in-house. Does anyone know if the mobility solutions source is available on the developer site?
