Sage Manufacturing Webinar Apparently there was a webinar this morning (10 AM PDT) on old and new pricing, but I did not see the e-mail yesterday from Scott Ehmen and did not have time to attend. Did it even happen? Scott is demonstrating how out of control Sage is right now. You cannot expect anyone to attend a session called less than 24 hours before when it's the last week of the Sage year (and coincidentally our FYE also).

I watch MySageSell very closely and did not see any notice roll through there (not that it would have had to but just FWIW).

I was aware there was going to be something scheduled, but normal people need a little more notice. Unlike Sage, we try to plan our schedules in advance.

My next question is, what's the purpose of MySageSell? I always thought it was a repository of everything going on - including channel emails - so partners could log in and retrieve items they may have missed. It seems to have become something that Sage pays attention to the day before they are getting their sales email newsletter ready for the channel.

MySageSell never seems to be complete and the search function seems to be useless.

The Sage Manufacturing call was a cluster. Be thankful you were not there. Apparently, only resellers with 100c deals in progress were invited, so that it would not distract from others closing their sage deals this week. Some of us have been told to use the new pricing, however now it is not officially coming out until October, and the terms appear to be changing. Big surprise today, was that better pricing does not apply to customers already on 100c. I almost got stung by that one. The Sage guy explaining the new pricing made things even more confusing.

Perhaps we should all go back to dealing with Scanco directly, call it JobOps, and get tier credit for selling it. Leave Sage out of it.

Oh, almost forgot - and get more than 25% margin!

Sage said around on their Sage 300c call a month ago that the ""up front per user"" fee would be going away sooner than later. I've yet to see or hear anything about that. Perhaps it will only go away for 300c or Sage is waiting for the 9/30 FYE to close.

I know it's traditional, but Marketing should be taken partly out of the loop on these pricing policies, because they have come up with some of the most inane ideas.

The call was only about 15 minutes -- the first part was about how to fix the order form so the pricing on additional MFG users comes out to align with the current promo. The 2nd part was about the new pricing for MFG, which I didn't quite understand. Larry Sunderlin from Sage was the presenter (he oversees the Sales Ops team)

The short story is that It was a complete cluster. No meaningful info was gained. The focus of the call was to instruct those using the ""not yet officially released"" pricing how to adjust the order form to compensate for the delta between the current and new pricing. But then we discovered that the new pricing is likely going to change again at the end of October. Stacy seemed to be stunned by this revelation as well. Personally, I was disappointed by the new pricing because it front loaded even higher costs on those scenarios involving 1 - 20 users. Since there are far more opportunities in the 1 - 20 user range, than in the 20+ range, it exacerbated the already non-competitive pricing for Sage 100c Mfg. IMHO.

I'm getting ready to schedule a webinar for 90 Minds members with Scanco about JobOps, anyone in particular you'd like to have on the call, besides Joe Bisaha and likely Don Martin? Does it make sense to have a Sage person on the call? (I feel like I need to duck flying objects being hurdled on even mentioning Sage)

Since the pricing is such a mess and so out of touch with the market, it might be helpful to have someone from Sage who speak to that issue. On today's call, they indicated that the final pricing decisions rest with Linda Cade. Not knowing exactly what the intended purpose of your webinar is, I'm not lobbying strongly for this, but merely throwing it out there for consideration since you asked. :-)

Got it thanks. Anyone else care to opine - include Sage on the call or not? We could have two calls as alternative idea.

Linda Cade??? I'm not sure why she would have the sales or market experience or customer/channel knowledge to come up with reasonable pricing. That sounds like Scott just decided to punt and now has someone to bame if it doesn't work.

Agree on Scott. We could reach out to Regina Crowshaw and / or Dianna Lane in Partner Development.
