Sage Listens RV stop in Las Vegas is complete. An hour and a half of small talk and feel-good interviews. Put a camera on me and surround me on all sides with Sage and it becomes difficult to say how I really feel. I got a couple of things off but had to follow up with an email to pick up the points I missed (not nearly effective, I know, as saying it while the camera rolls). #NeedsMediaTraining

I get the feeling this was a grab at PR. I cringed when I saw pictures tweeted of Sage meeting customers with cameras and a big boom microphone.

I did get follow up from the product development group defending the mobile products and we have a call this afternoon.

But at least you guys have good catfish in Vegas.

it's hard to say what you want/need when surrounded by Sage PR personnel, let alone cameras and mics, @BrianRice. Don't be discouraged - I'm sure you did better than you thought.

I've since earned a phone call with Doug LaBahn and Sean Leonard. I appreciate the time even though the following might not lead you to believe it. Synopsis: Mobile applications are working on a 3/30/300/3000 customer implementation progression so those under-developed mobile applications that were strutted out in front of everyone at the keynote are actually live for between 30 and 300 installations. Why the big push for something that isn't ready? Because Sage took hell for not having a working version at Summit 2012. Why didn't you talk about the development cycle at Summit? Um. Aren't we expected to sell it today? No, but you might join our VIP pilot program. What about locking users into Sage Payments instead of allowing an alternative? We're working on it.

Are the mobile solutions sale-able or are they being given away for free for customers on M&S? Hard to believe that I have been through two Summits talking about them and I don't the answer to that ...

More value for your M&S? You must need sleep.

Wasn't Sage passing out iPads and requesting people to come try the apps last year? I know Ed Kless gave me his iPad with app to try. They were not very clear on the status of the apps until this year when they suddenly admitted last year's app demo was mostly renders. Rest assured they are not fooling UK and that is who ultimately runs NA and will determine the fate of the current crop of executives.
