I was looking for some marketing materials on Sage Inventory Advisor and landed on this Sage website page.  Is this a typo or the actual starting point for pricing?

It is a typo - it is $199

    Thank you,

I have a few customers using it, one using the free one and one using the paid. I bet the typo is that it's supposed to be 1991.  And there is a foot note explaining...The $199 is not realistic, exactly, because the monthly charge on top of that, which is based on the value of those items you run through SIA portion has a minimum.  But since you get to pick which items you run through SIA, you can keep it under control.  I usually send a link to this site for basics.

How do you handle end user training?  I have had a few complaints from customers that the buy and install SIA then the training is weak.  Users are directed to videos or online documentation.  What has your experience been?

I have a customer who has had SIA for several years and are just now getting to a clean inventory to work with. They are paying for a Sage Inventory Advisor Bootcamp which can be onsite or online.

This sounds like a great product. So far I've had no buyers. I think part of the problem is the customer. Hardly any have a good handle on their inventory and many want to "manage by the seat of their pants" until something goes wrong. When something goes wrong it's often easier (on their ego) to fire the consultant and hire another.

Unless the client really embraces it, I'd say it's an opportunity for your to offer a 'get up an running' plan.  When they turn it on, if they don't ACTUALLY listen to the training, they're going to be confused, PLUS, there are alot of things, like PO's that weren't closed properly, that are going to give them bad recommendations and they'll bail if you don't hold their hand.

The clients that need to clean up old PO's and old SO's are the ones that need this the most.  Thus, they need to clean up old data before starting SIA, or will committing monthly funds to SIA get them to clean up old data?

I seem to have less luck with the customers I feel really need something (they never seem to feel the same way)
Until they hit the wall or encounter massive pain -- many times add-ons are tough sales.

I do the best giving a 3 minute rundown of popular add-ons on my way out the door after an upgrade.

    Easier Sales:
    - Credit Cards
    - InstaDocs
    - WMS
    - eCommerce

    Tougher sales:
    - Reporting / BI  (Everyone sees Excel or MSFT  and thinks they'll do it themselves)
    - Hosting ( The need  must be there - I think multi-office or complete lack of IT)
    - Sales tax ( most customers very content to wait until  " I just had a terrible audit " until motivated to invest )
    - SIA ( generally too expensive without a source of current pain) - many times the demand is coming from the inventory person at the company and the owner has no idea why they need something like this

This round of upgrades I'm creating a one-page list of suggested solutions along with the benefits and quickly go over them with customers during the upgrade. From experience, I know attention spans are very short so the list has to be reviewable in < 1-2 minutes.

I'd say it's a good idea to clean up SO's and POs'.  I wonder if it'll be necessary to use SIA if Purchase Agent (Scanco) really rolls into version 2019 at some point.  I don't know if it's more like MRP or SIA.
But up til now, for clients that really could use it, if they're already on gold they have nothing to lose and may decide they want more than the free version, so I'm happy to put them on it as step one.
For those who didn't have Gold, I suggested they get it, but only turn it on for a handful of items until they have the swing of it.  But it's really easy for nothing to happen at all if you don't hold their hand.  I'll bet that private bootcamp is a big boost.  I want to hear @Therese Logeais!
Many of my clients are small and I carry them everywhere.  Part of owning the customer relationship.

We have had a couple of clients embrace it and a couple of clients sign on only to never implement it.  Even with Purchase Agent the settings for min/max/safety stock, etc must be manually maintained.  SIA calculates those values.  So I see it as complimentary to use Purchasing Agent/CEM for that reason.  We have one client that uses SIA to keep track of purchase of components for make to order items on sales orders through its integration with BM.  They do not currently use WO or JOBOps.
