  • 1.  Sage Intelligence/Excel suddenly slow at Naming Ranges step

    Client recently reported all users and all reports in Sage Intelligence have slowed down at the Naming Ranges stage of generating report.There is a natural pause there but client says it has changed from less than 2 minutes to over 10 minutes for every report. Also, when making changes in SI reports (only), recalculations take up to 30 seconds vs instantaneous.

    IT swears no network/server changes nor Anti-Virus changes.

    On a Sage 100 workstation, we have re-installed Sage 100 w/s, verified security on BI* folders, verified 3 Excel Add-Ins, copied a report to standard template,cleared Tenant Cache, Compacted Metadata Repository, and deleted unused rows and columns in each worksheet. Still a problem. Anything I am missing?

    STD or ADV?  If ADV, are they using the CS ODBC service?  Stop/then start it.......

    Any Windows Updates / patches installed to Excel?  We have one customer with SI issues that they believe can be traced to an update.

    @Kevin Moyes: IT says no updates/patches occurred during interval between working normal and slow down. But I haven't asked IT to do a repair on Excel yet. I will request that today. ​

    Set recalculation to manual on the template. 

    Create a macro to calculate workbook and set recalculation back to Automatic. Select this macro to execute on completion in report manager.
