Hi, Customer is on Sage Premium 2017, they think they were on Excel 2010. Someone recently upgraded their Terminal Servers to Excel 2016 Standard 32 bit (At the time, nobody in IT would fess up!). It does look like Excel 2010 is gone (uninstalled?).
Since that time, most of their reports (which are quite long with 100 units/worksheets, 40,000 gl accounts per company, 3 companies consolidated) are now hanging while 'Naming Ranges'. I asked IT to increase the memory and he increased it from 16 to 32 gb and added 2 more processors (so now they have 4). It seems to have helped on the smaller reports but not these larger ones.
If AutoCalc is on for the larger reports it still seems to hang. Doesn't error out, just sits at Naming Ranges for a really long time. Even with AutoCalc turned off, the report takes 45 mn to an hour to run. Prior to the Upgrade of Excel, the report (with AutoCalc on) took an hour.
I uninstall Sage 100 Premium workstation setup, removed the BI Folders, installed workstation setup, set the permissions to Modify on the BI Folders (I never do full, have always done modify).
They are thinking of spinning up new Terminal Servers as they are a bit old, and will suggest Excel 64 bit but not sure how much that is going to help.
Any ideas on why an upgrade of Excel would increase the run times? Ideas of what to do to decrease run time?
Thanks.
