  • 1.  Sage Intelligence GLClosingBalance formula is not calculating correctly

    A customer is doing a comparative trial balance using the GLClosingBalance formula from the BI Tools that are part of Sage Intelligence.  For some reason there are a few accounts that don't match the closing balance in GL Account Inquiry nor a straight GL Trial Balance from Sage 100.

    Does anyone know what file(s) is/are used for the GLClosingBalance formula?  Do we need to do a GL Recalculation?

    If you run a GL Detail Transaction Report for one of the off accounts for ALL DATES, does the balance show the same as either 1) Sage or 2) SI?

    @Beth Bowers, running the report for ALL dates matches the amount in Sage 100 GL Account Inquiry (and the GL Trial Balance report).

    If you unhide the Actuals tab, that is where the balances are that the formula should be adding up.  It only shows AccountKey, not account, so you'll have to find the Key and then you can go through all of the balances for all of the years for that account and see what's off.

    @Beth Bowers, I see the information under the "Actuals" tab.  Where did this information come from?  The 12th period of 2022 is off but then so is the 1st period of 2023.
    Is the "Actuals" some sort of summery of the GLDetailPosting file or does is populate from the GLPeriodPostingHistory?  Because the GLPeriodPostingHistory looks correct and matches the GL Account Inquiry.

    @Chuck Peddy - ugh, I wish I knew.  Since there is the option to drill down into the totals on a report, I would theorize that it's from the Detail file, not the summary file.  So maybe rebuild the Detail file and even do a Crystal report to see if it comes up with some records you don't see in the Trans tab?
