I want to create a trial balance in Sage Intelligence.   In addition to the account number and account description there will be four columns: Beginning balance, Debits, Credits, Ending balance.  I know the formula to get the beginning and ending balance.  What formulas do I use to get the total debits and total credits?  I want the debit and credit broken out.  I know I can net the opening balance and closing balance and back into a net debit or net credit amount however the customer wants the debits and credit displayed separately.

There is a BL TB template available in SI.  Is the questions above the result of looking at this template?

What does "BL" mean?  No, the question doesn't relate to looking at the template.  I am developing 12 statements that get distributed automatically each month to several people.  One of the statements is a trial balance in a specific format they are used to in the "old system". There will be six columns:  account#, acct description, beginning balance, debits, credits, ending balance.  On the surface it seems pretty simple except I am not sure it is possible.  I have all of the other statements completed and many of them have several complicated formulas.  I get down to a seemingly straightforward trial balance and either it is "working as designed" (aka this basic feature doesn't exist), or I don;t know how to do it and need someone to show me.

It means the responder has fat fingers and did not pause long enough to proof the post.....  BL should be GL.  I am not an SI expert but not sure if you are referring to it.

That's interesting @Jeff Schwenk  and thanks for the help.  It seems promising yet I can't determine how the data is read into the table.  I know it's a pivot table but I can't figure out how the data source is established.  In Excel if I click on Data, then Connections, it displays "No connections" so I am guessing the connection is established in SI not in Excel.  Maybe I don't care what the data source / connector is and just modify the pivot table to get the format and data I need.

I don't ever use the generated reports. In all projects, we were either converting from FRx or we copy in the layout of their existing financials into a Report Designer workbook and start from scratch.

Both GLActual and GLActualYTD functions have BalanceType as the last parameter ("Debit" or "Credit")

Bravo!  Thank you @Eric Lunceford  That's exactly what was needed... use the Debit or Credit parameter in the GLActualYTD function.  Much appreciated!
