  • 1.  Sage Intelligence Excel BI error

    When using the Financial Report Template from Sage Intelligence We receive the following error:

    ChildButtonClicked
    Initialization of 'System.Windws.Data.ObjectDataProvider' threw an exception.

    This appears to be an Windows/Excel/BI Add-in error.  Has anyone seen this before or have an solution to the problem?

    I have more to add to this puzzle.  The error seems to be with the "Report Designer Add-in 1.2.0" that is part of the Sage.BI.ExcelFunctions1.1.xll."  The Add-in is initially activated and throws the above error.  I can go into Add-ins and disable this item then go back and immediately reactivate it.  When I reactivate the Report Designer Add-in the Task Pane will start working properly and the report layouts run correctly.

    Has anyone had this experience?

    I had a similar issue and I ended up asking the IT group to give the user local admin rights to the user's C drive. It fixed her issue.

    Can you see BI Tools tab at the top of Excel?  In File > Options, is BI Generator an Active Add-In?  Just had to work with a customer earlier today to add the BIGen Registry keys back on the workstation in order to get his Sage Intelligence Reports to run.  Was getting a different error though.
