Sage have posted three videos of the expected capabilities in Sage 100 Payroll 2.0. Based on the title Sage used for their videos - Sage 100 - I am presuming (possibly incorrectly) that payroll will be available for both Sage 100 and Sage 100c. You can view the videos in MySageSell in the Sage 100 Playbook - or I downloaded them and loaded them to YouTube with links below http://www.s-consult.com/2016/12/23/sage-100-payroll-2-0-first-look/

In the farce of a partner meeting we had earlier this month, they were asked specifically if PR v2.0 would be available to those with perpetual license and they said YES. Rather surprising, but does anything surprise about Sage anymore???

Wow, a 25 character employee middle name! That more than makes up for missing modern features, like Garnishments. My clients will be thrilled.

You have Stephen Kelly's photo associated to your profile until you change it.

I wonder why Sage didn't play up this payroll 2.0 as one reason for users to subscribe to payroll.

I remember in one of the meeting specifically stating they did not want to associate the new version (increase in value) with the increase in cost. I suspect so they can increase the price when it is released. Keep in mind Sage is going to perceive the $1,200 price to current clients as a $2,800 discount ($4,000 new customer - $1,2000) and looking to collect as much of this as they can prior to ""un-grandfathering"".

Sadly, I think you are right. Once Sage believes they've onboarded all the current payroll users that they can they will come up with some reason why they have to ungrandfather the pricing and make it more equitable.
